As stated on the Orkut homepage “Social networking and discussion site operated by Google”. The homepage depicts simplicity, however, with the emergence of Google Plus, what will be the fate of Orkut? Anyway, this article will feature primarily on how you can sign up for orkut.

I simply believe that virtually all Google tools and products are well made with so much simplicity, putting the users at mind; in other words, having an Orkut account is not difficult. Please, ride with me as we navigate the rudiments and basics of registering on the site.

1.         First, go to the main orkut homepage ( www.orkut.com)

2.         On the homepage, click on create account icon. This can be found at the top right hand side on the site.

3.         The first requirement is to have a Google account. If you have a Gmail account or Google account, you do not need to bother yourself; all what you have to do is to simply log into the orkut account with the same username (Email ID) and your password. However, if you do not have, you can use any email address you already use e.g. your Yahoo, MSN or even AOL address. However, you will need to still go to the orkut sign up page to use that Email address to open a Google account which you will still use as your Orkut Login credentials.

4.         Give details about the following:

a.         Your First name

b.         Last name

d.         Your Gender

e.         Click on “I accept”, however, you need to read the Google Terms of service first.
